James Dunn has practiced law since 1974. He is a graduate of Williams College and Suffolk University Law School. His practice involves representation of public and private sector unions, including several municipal police and fire unions, in collective bargaining and contract administration, including grievance and arbitration proceedings. He serves as a mediator and arbitrator in labor and personal injury cases, and in 2007 was appointed by the Governor to the Vermont Labor Relations Board. He also represents individuals and union members in workers’ compensation and personal injury cases.
James was a founding partner of the law firm in 1981. Prior to entering private practice, he worked as staff attorney at Vermont Legal Aid, where he also served as Director of the Senior Citizen Law Project. He also served for ten years as chief labor negotiator and personnel director for the City of Burlington, Vermont. In 2008, Jim Dunn assumed "of counsel" status with the firm.
